Reading Genesis 3 I have to ask myself how often I base my decisions on what looks good like Eve did. Verse 6 says "The woman was convinced. She saw that the tree was beautiful and its fruit looked delicious, and she wanted the wisdom it would give her. So she took some of the fruit and ate it." How often do I think something looks good....a choice....a decision...a relationship...and I think it will give me something I want and then I go after it without checking with God first?
See Eve knew she wasn't supposed to eat it. God gave her many trees to eat from...but not that one! God already told her! Her desire for something delicious wasn't wrong....God gave her an entire garden of delicious fruit to eat. Her desire for wisdom wasn't wrong either! But she was going after it the wrong way and there were consequences. Today why not just stop right there. It might look good and it might seem like it will give you something you want....but if God already told you no, then leave it there. Let God show and give you what you desire....His way!
